Our Digital Assets Practice:

Cohen & Company is a leader in cryptocurrency audit and tax services. We are recognized for our deep expertise in the cross section of blockchain and cryptocurrencies with accounting, audit, and tax. We have seats on the AICPA Digital Assets Working Group and actively participate in industry groups like the Chamber of Digital Commerce. We were the first to audit a cryptocurrency hedge fund and provide reserve assurance for stablecoins. 

Our Digital Assets Opportunities:

Our Digital Assets practice is experiencing dramatic growth and we are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial energy and commitment to client service to join our team! We are looking for accounting or finance professionals at the Senior level to work in our Technology & Life Sciences practice supporting Digital Asset clients. These roles will primarily focus on financial statement audits for cryptocurrency hedge funds. 

Because of the dramatic growth, there is continued opportunity for career growth in this area of the firm. We are open to this position being remote or in any of our markets: Cleveland, OH; Akron, OH; Youngstown, OH; Detroit, MI; St. Clair Shores, MI; Chicago, IL; Baltimore, MD; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI. This job is not available for residents of Colorado or New York City.

On the Assurance team in the Digital Assets practice, you will: 

• Design and execute audit procedures for digital asset funds to complete financial statement audits
• Prepare audit workpapers to support and document digital asset audit testing
• Communicate with clients and third-party fund administrators throughout the course of the audits
• Collaborate and work closely with audit team members to determine how to test new digital asset activities and investments
• Analogize accounting standards to digital asset transactions and activities
• Gain exposure to many different digital assets and blockchains, as well as interact with digital asset platforms and infrastructure companies

Requirements:

• Currently working in the public accounting industry, investment industry, or related industry
• Experience or interest in working on clients in one or more of the following industries: digital assets, mutual funds, hedge funds, etc.
• Must have a genuine interest for the digital asset space and a strong desire to be part of an innovative team that is actively solving the challenging new developments in the digital asset space

You may be a fit this role if: 

• You have a Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance
• You enjoy challenges and fast-paced environments
• You love to solve puzzles

Preferred experience, but not required: 

• Experience in cryptocurrencies/blockchain, financial services, or investment management (hedge funds, mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), etc.)
• You are eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam
